Kathy has been with the firm for over 20 years during which time she has established herself in both the governmental and nonprofit sectors. She spends most of her time working with clients on audit engagements or special projects.
Her experience includes audits of small and large local governmental units and audits of private schools, social service agencies and quasi-governmental entities. Advisory services include fraud investigations and internal control development and review.
During the past three years Kathy has attended and/or been an instructor for a number of training sessions including the following topics: GASB – Other Postemployment Benefits, FIN. 48, 403(b) plans, audit risk assessments, GASB 54 – Fund Balance, and ARRA compliance. She was a member of the State Department of Audit’s working group that developed the Model Chart of Accounts for Municipalities and Counties.
She is currently a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Maine Government Finance Officers Association (MGFOA).
